Your Playing Posture

Playing guitar isn't a sport, but you're definitely learning to use your body in a new way. As you're learning chords and strumming, it's also important to learn the right posture to avoid any back or joint pain 💪

Here are a few things to keep in mind before & during each practice session.

  • Sit on a comfortable chair🪑, preferably without armrests or wheels

  • Keep both feet on the floor 👣

  • Keep your back straight and your shoulders relaxed 👤

  • Rest your right arm on the upper part of the guitar body (If you play left-handed, do the same but with your left arm) 🦾

  • If you find yourself straining, try to adjust your sitting position - you can use a mirror to help! 🪞
